Coop Reveal

Hey Friends!

The chicken coop is done (it has been for a little while now) and I'm just finally getting around to showing it off! It has taken Dad sooo many hours of  hard work, with me standing by (and helping a little 😏) saying, "well...that's not exactly what I had in mind" or "could we try it this way?" He so painstakingly tried to make it just like I wanted using what we had. It really did turn out adorable :) Plus it hardly cost anything!!! So I hope you enjoy these few snapshots of our little henhouse. Plus I'm adding a few of the chickies themselves. They've really grown up!
Yesterday was the coop cleaning day, but instead of just "cleaning" it like I usually do I did a thorough deep clean. I raked all the soiled bedding out, sprayed the whole thing down, bleached it, and let it dry from the hot summer sun. Once dry, I added straw to the nesting boxes since our chickens will hopefully start laying soon!!! Then I spread pine shavings under the roosting sticks and there you have it, a sparkling clean coop!!!!

These girls have turned into beautiful young ladies with brightly colored feathers and feisty   personalities :) And yes, they ALL have names thanks to Ethan and Nolan (but everyone helped)!!

                                                                                            Meet Percy
Dad kept telling me that there was this rooster in Creekside Park in Myrtle Creek and I was just like umm,"I don't think I really want a park rooster." Nevertheless we decided to bring him home (which is another story in and of itself) and here he is in all his glory. We haven't had much trouble with him as of yet. We hope he doesn't get mean. He loves his new home and is very much the head of the flock, and does he know it!?!?

Hope you all have a wonderful week! 😊

Blessings,
Sarah 💛
