Autumn π
Hey there!
Guys. I am soooo excited about...guess what?!?! Fall is here! ππππCrisp morning air and afternoon sun, the patter of rain as I drift off to sleep and fuzzy blankets are just a few of the many things to love about fall. I mean what isn't to love about it honestly?
Personally one of the things I love the most about autumn is the preparatory feeling that it brings. You know that roof that leaks in that one spot, and that hay loft that needs to be more water tight and those few more boxes of apples just waiting to be made into sauce... Ya, you know what I'm talking about. Fall brings that urge to finish readying everything for the winter just ahead.
Lately we've been overrun with all kinds of projects such as building porch roofs, putting away outside toys, and readying the goat barn and chicken run for winter (keep your eyes open for a post about how we've been doing that!). Yup it's definitely busy, but it's so satisfying to sit by a warm crackling fire while it pours down rain and know that everything is stocked, and patched, and snug.
These sunflowers are a perfect example of the beauty fall brings. All the beautiful yellows of the flowers along with orange pumpkins and the falling leaves of all colors create such a beautiful world. God certainly new just what colors and textures to put together to make a stunning scene!!. The sunflowers here are just a few specimens of the HUGE crop we were blessed with this year. We didn't actually grow a garden this summer. Instead, we let it rest in hopes that the soil would be replenished with some of the nutrients we seemed to be lacking. Hopefully when we plant our garden in the spring it will do well! Anyway, long story short we had TONS of volunteer sunflowers. We didn't plant them, we didn't weed them, we didn't really even water them. They just grew. It was amazing! A week or two ago the last of them were finished up, but they were a beautiful blast into fall.π»π»π»
Blessings,
Sarah π
